Comparison of humus form state in the beech and spruce parts of the Žákova hora National Natural Reserve
Original language description
Presentation summarizes main ideas concerning structure of natural forest ecosystems in middle altitudes and documents the changes of humus forms and their chemistry in the natural forest Žákova hora National Natural Reserve, in typical selected parts with different tree species composition: European beech ? Norway spruce. The species composition, age and spatial structure are discussed and the uppermost soil analysis is done in particular parts of natural forest regeneration cycle, of different stagesrespectively. Compared are: amount and layer composition of surface humus and basic pedochemical characteristics of holorganic and upper mineral horizons. Results document changes in humus forms character as a consequence of the tree species change. On the contrary, discussion on structure of natural forests in middle altitudes concludes high portion of uncertainty as for species, age and spatial structure.
