Struktura horského smrkového lesa v oblasti Trojmezné ve vztahu k historickému vývoji a stanovištním podmínkám
Original language description
Almost natural mountain spruce forest at Trojmezná Mt. belongs to the most valuable forests in the Šumava national park, Czech Republic. According the historical records, some stands have not been managed in the last 300 years, while some parts were cut150 years ago. The aims were to describe the structure of the forest and compare structure of old-growth parts with stands that were cut. We analyzed series of plots established on three altitudinal transects (T1-3), spanning from 1240 (plot 1) to 1320 (plot 6) m a.s.l, near the mountain ridge. These transects intersect stands with different history of management which ceased in different periods. The plots were grouped in pairs A, B, C, from the lower to the higher altitudes respectively. Using preliminary data just from transect T2, high age range was found on every plot, except T2/5. The maximum age reaches 350 years on plot T2/2 and is higher than 200 years on each plot. The altitude and probably the site conditions are the most imp
