Possibilities and production parameters of the selective forest management system in the Central Bohemia and Czech Republic
Original language description
Selective forests, i.e. the selective silvicultural systems, are topics considered as the highest level of the forestry skill the Mid-European conditions. They are assumed as the main target of the so-called ''close-to-nature-forestry? very often, especially by the ''ecological public?. Selective system represents a blocked phase of the natural forest regeneration cycle, but it is fully controlled by the forest manager ? forester. Selective system originated on the basis of the demand on sustainable yield and permanent forest cover, in the Alpine countries. In particular phases of the forest policy development in other regions, this system was broadly accepted and prescribed, also in conditions differing widely from the regions of origin. The presentedposter documents the examples from the Czech Republic, the data collected throughout the literature review, concerning the production outputs of the selective forests comparing to the even-aged ones.
