The Use of Rainfall Simulator in Monitoring the Soil Conservation Effectiveness of different Kinds of Vegetation Cover
Original language description
The research work is focused on the effect of vegetation cover on surface runoff and water erosion on sloping locations. The efficacy rate of soil protection effect was determined on the basis of comparison of soil loss from fallow and soils covered by vegetation. The quantity of surface runoff was measured with the usage of a rainfall simulator. Slope gradient of monitored locations amounts on average 9°. The soil protection effect was gauged in particular stand development phases. The soil loss was established on the basis of suspended solids concentration. This year's measurements were carried out in the stands of Lotus corniculatus, Carum carvi and Phacelia tanacetifolia.
