The article deals with the dynamics of the damages of forest stands under air-pollution load on 32 permanent research plots in different site and stand conditions in the Giant Mts. in the period 1976 ? 2005. The forests of this area are under air pollution impact since longer time, supposing the origin, size and running of emission sources. E.g. the western part was influenced by immissions since launching of power plants into operation around German Zittau since 1972. In the E part of the mountains, increased air pollution load is supposed since 1959, i.e. since beginning of the operating of the power plant EPO II close Trutnov. The first more pronounced damages on forest trees were observed after climate abrupt change in March 1977, further beginning1979 and in coincidence with spruce moth (Zeiraphera diniana Gn.) gradation.
