Environmental and technological valuation of biomass use in the context of hydrogen economy as a contribution to the sustainable development.
Original language description
Biomass becomes a principal alternative to traditional energy sources which are basically of fossil origin. The disadvantage of traditional fuels is their polluting effect harmfully influencing environment - air, soil and water. Within this context, their increased use makes raise concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere producing greenhouse effect with a consequence in growing temperature (Climate Changes). The advantage of hydrogen economy is a non-carbonic energy system, when the only waste from hydrogen fuel use is water. In the framework of the hydrogen economy, biomass resources become of the highest potential for a following development in energy supply because it (biomass) can be directly transformed to hydrogen or to different intermediate energy carriers for energy storing - a posteriori used for hydrogen production according to the energy consumption. This permits to count on its wide implementation for classic fuel replacement used in the existing energy infrastr
