Bioavailability of As and Cd and uptake by Salix sp. in heavily polluted soils.

  • Original language description

Bioavailability of As and Cd in polluted soils and As and Cd accumulation in aboveground harvestable biomass by Salix sp. were tested in pot experiment. There were found differences in accumulation of As and Cd between individual clones, which were planted on highly (Litavka), moderately polluted (Příbram), and unpolluted (Suchdol) soils. Enhanced accumulation of As and Cd showed S. x smithiana S-150 in Litavka soil among all tested clones. In Litavka and Příbram soils were observed the largest plant-available and exchangeable fractions of Cd in comparison with Suchdol soil, whereas As showed lower mobility in all investigated soils.
