Pathogen Phytophthora infestans with rapid reproductive cycles, producing large number wind spread dispersed infection propagules and chemical control by metalaxyl iniciated resistance in the population of pathogen to this antifungal compound. Carrent recommendation are to use alternative multiside fungicde on potato crops. Our results illustrate the importance of understanding pathogen epidemiology in the management of fungicide resistance
