The workshop Critical Museum lead in English by a foremost representative of European art history, an expert in East European modern and contemporary art, Prof. Piotr Piotrowski (Department of Art History, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan), was focusedon burning issues of contemporary museology and curatorial studies, mainly in the region of former East Bloc. Participants of the workshop were students from the follow-up MA and Ph.D. programs at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague,some parts were open to general public. The workshop was divided into four blocks ? each consisting of morning session (lecture) and afternoon session (seminar): 1) Introduction into critical museum studies (new museology); 2) How to make the museum critical?; 3) After 1989: Museums of modern and contemporary art ? the East-Central European response to the (art-)historical past; 4) Professor vs. curator. Art history between the university and museum.
