One of the general ecological requirements for any industrial production is convenient procedure for disposal of waste materials. One of them is sulphuric acid which is diluted and very often contaminated by other chemical ingredients. It is beneficial to convert such acid to other product which can be further utilised, for example by its reaction with calcium carbonate to form dihydrate of calcium sulphate possessing required properties.Such reaction represents a complex heterogeneous reaction betweensolid and liquid phases forming solid and gaseous products. There were no integrated information in literature about corresponding reaction conditions and their effect on properties of calcium sulphate dihydrate. A series of laboratory experiments have been therefore carried out to understand the effect of various factors on this reaction and on physico-chemical properties of formed calcium sulphate dihydrate.Starting compounds for the reaction were finely pulverized limestone and pure s
