The gold ruby glass represents interesting case of glassy composite material characterized by dispersed nanocrystals of metal in the glass matrix. The main property - its color - is determined particularly by size distribution of crystals and by their mutual interactions. These characteristics are result of the batch composition, melting conditions, annealing history, eventually of subsequent heating, so-called striking. The aim of this work is to suggest theoretical model of gold crystals behavior in the molten glass.
