The Research and Development of Decontamination Process Utilizing Vapor-Phase Hydrogen Peroxide
Original language description
Leading reasons for continued search for new methods are negative properties of some decontamination agents, above all their toxicity or toxicity of decontamination residues. An ideal chemical decontamination agent should posses several properties, aboveall: ability to remove and/or breakdown of biological and chemical contamination, high reactivity, compatibility with material, lack of toxicity to humans and the environment, odorless, non-staining, unrestricted disposal, prolonged reuse life and shelflife, easy to use, ability to be monitored and cost-effective 2. One of favourable method, which could implement the above remarks, seems to be Vapor Phase Hydrogen Peroxide (VPHP) 3.
