CATALYTIC GLYCEROL OXIDATION IN TRICKLE-BED REACTOR
Original language description
Sustainable development of chemical industry, usage of renewable resources and production of bio-fuels places new requirements on cleaning and recyclation of waste-water. In this work wet oxidation of 0.5% - 3,5% aqueous solution of glycerol in trickle-bed reactor at presence of heterogeneous catalysts was investigated. The goal of this work was i) to reconstruct of experimental setup, ii) to formulate and test Matlab programs to control and evaluate experiments and iii) to examine influence of inlet liquid feed modulation on rate of wet oxidation. Measure of oxidation in trickle-bed reactor was evaluated under continuous and periodic modulated liquid feed and constant air velocity. Reaction conditions in 18 mm I. D. trickle bed reactor rouge : Glycerol solution was oxidated by oxygen ( constant feed 20Nl/h) with heterogeneous catalyst ( Pd on C or Al2O3 ). Temperature range was : 80 ? 160 °C and pressure 20 ? 70 bar. Sample analysis was carried out by HPLC with UV and RI detector and
