Helium permeation through mixed matrix membranes based polyimides and silicalite-
Original language description
Permeability of polymeric membranes for gases has its upper bound which can be overcome by embedding a microporous sorbent. We used coupling agent 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane to improve adhesion of polyimide matrix to fillers (silicalite-1). This improvement enabled us to prepare membranes with filler content up to 60 wt. %. We compared measured helium permeability of the membranes with those predicted by the Bruggeman model and explained the deviations.
