VYUŽITÍ ŠKROBŮ PŘI PŘÍPRAVĚ PORÉZNÍCH KERAMIK

  • Original language description

Two methods are described for the preparation of porous alumina ceramics (traditional slip casting and starch consolidation casting) using three types of starch - potato, corn and rice starch. The starch type chosen determines the pore size and its amount (here 10, 30 and 50 vol.%) the degree of porosity. Microstructural differences are discussed on the basis of integral microstructural descriptors on as-fired samples (bulk density, apparent porosity) and polished sections. Recent results are reported for materials with microstructural gradients - layered ceramics with a pore size gradient prepared from suspensions with three starch types and ceramics with porosity gradients prepared from suspensions with different starch contents.
