    Surface treatment of NiTi shape memory alloy and its influence on corrosion behavior

  • Original language description

    Influence of various surface treatments of a NiTi alloy on its corrosion resistance was studied. It was shown that oxidation at 530°C has a slightly retarding effect on the corrosion in the case of mechanically polished material. However, in the case ofchemically etched material, oxidation strongly accelerates corrosion. The findings obtained in this work were discussed in relation to variations in the surface structure after different treatments.
