Influence of model organic air polutants on the fuel cell type PEM
Original language description
The impact of air contained organic pollutants on platinum catalyst and unprotected fuel cell was investigated using linear voltammetry and fuel cell performance tests. The state of fuel cell was detected by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.Influence of different organic pollutant on the platinum catalyst was detected. Different way of catalyst regeneration was investigated and the best way was studied in detail. Results was verified in laboratory fuel cell. Volt pulse regeneration get thebest results, but this way can be potentially dangerous for catalyst support. Water in fuel cell is electrolyzed by volt pulse and generated oxygen oxidized organic pollutant. Unfortunately oxygen oxidized catalyst support too by long time pulses. Therefore only limited numbers of catalyst regenerations can be done.
