  • Original language description

    Azo dye Acid Orange 7 (AO7) is a candidate model compound for the standard determination of photoactivity of surfaces containing titanium dioxide as photocatalyst. This work is dealing with some critical aspects, such as method of analysis and wavelengthof light which may influence the photodegradation rate in aqueous phase and thus are important for its correct determination. We found that the rate of photosensitized degradation of AO7 using visible light is at least one order of magnitude smaller incomparison with the rate of photocatalytic degradation in UV light.
