Biodegradable materials based on zinc
Original language description
The Zn-Mg biodegradable alloys containing 0 - 8.3 wt. % Mg were studied. Microstructure, phase composition, hardness and mechanical properties in compression and bending were evaluated. Mechanical properties were discussed in relation to the microstructure and phase composition of the alloys. The results showed that mechanical properties of binary Zn-Mg alloys increase with growing content of Mg with the maximum achieved at eutectic composition. Higher magnesium contents strongly deteriorate mechanicalproperties of these alloys.
