Analytical Characterization of Novel Pt(IV) Cytostatic Agents and Their Respective Precursors
Original language description
Cancer diseases in this time currently represent after diseases of the cardiovascular system, one of the biggest causes death of human population on the disease. Treatment of cancer is an individual access to the patient, depending on the stage of the disease , the age, health, etc. In most cases, the treatment of cancer is the combination of multiple therapies, the most common type of therapy are chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy and surgery. The most common of these therapies is chemotherapy which comprises administering chemicals = cytostatic drugs with cytotoxic activity to inhibit the growth of or destroy tumors. Among the most commercially sold cytostatic occupy the largest group with more than 60 % representation platinum complexes. Thefirst and still most widely used platinum agent was discovered in 1965 by American scientist Rosenberg. Although this cytostitics has good cytotoxic properties, due to its serious side effects such as neurotoxicity and nephrotoxicity and
