University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (formerly Institute of Chemical Technolgy) is the research university well established in education and research in the fields of chemistry, chemical technology, materials, biochemistry and other. The university includes four faculties and the materials research and development is concentrated mainly at the Faculty of Chemical Technology. In this paper research and develoment of advanced metalic materials realised at the Faculty of Chemical Technology and Department of Metals and Corrosion Engineering is briefly summarized.
