11th European Symposium on Electrochemical Engineering
Original language description
Dear Colleagues and Friends of electrochemistry and of electrochemical engineering in particular, It gives us great pleasure to invite you to attend the new, already 11th edition of the European Symposium on Electrochemical Engineering. This time it is being organized in Prague, Czech Republic, a city where the Nobel Prize winner for electrochemistry, Jaroslav Heyrovsky, was born and worked for most of his life. This makes Prague an inspiring venue for electrochemists. Although both the Symposium and the venue build on a long tradition, they offer a forum for new ideas and developments. And that is one of the chief targets of this event. The overall motto is Today's research for tomorrow's technologies, thus addressing the key aim of our work: to understand electrochemical phenomena and their applications in daily life. Our motto covers the entire, fascinating range of research and development work, from understanding the fundamental principles to testing pilot plant installations. We both trust that we will all again have a chance to enjoy the immense richness of our common subject in Prague, which in the course of the previous editions has meanwhile become a tradition. As already mentioned, the Symposium builds on a long tradition, but at the same time it is progressive, adopting innovative ideas and approaches. This is reflected in a round table on Electrochemical Processes which is being organized within the framework of the scientific program to strengthen contacts to industry and to promote knowledge transfer from academia to industry. Both industry and academia are herewith encouraged to participate in this interesting activity.
