"This study focused on the corrosion and electrochemical behaviour of aluminium alloys (AlSi9Cu5, AlZn10Si8Mg1, AlZn4Mg1In, AlSi5Mg8 and AlSi5Mg8In) as potential galvanic coatings for steel. The properties of alloys were observed in solutions of artificial rain and seawater as well as in the atmosphere. Electrochemical properties were monitored using DC techniques (open-circuit potential, zero-resistance ammetry). The experiments showed promising corrosion and electrochemical behaviour characteristics for AlZn10Si8Mg1 and AlSi5Mg8In alloys, which had properties similar to those of zinc."
