Dear colleagues, ladies and gentleman, You keep in your hands Book of Abstracts of the 9th international conference Hydrogen Days 2018 on hydrogen technologies and their applications. The conference aiming to present, between others, progress in hydrogen technologies reached in the Czech Republic, but mainly to bridge the barriers between specialists in the Europe, as well as in the World. The barriers build by different stage of the hydrogen technology development and implementation, by the differences in the political tradition and last, but not least, by differences in the economic strength. At the same time we would like to establish Prague as a meeting point of hydrogen specialists and decision makers in and industrial as well as public sphere. This we express also with the main motto of the conference: “Hydrogen – bridging Europe and the World”. This orientation of the conference is also a reason for, in a certain sense, its content unusual for the scientific meeting. Between technical presentations we have an opportunity to hear also reports on organization and political issues related to the development and mainly implementation of our findings into the real life. It is clear, that in current highly developed, industrialized and cost effective economy it is very difficult to achieve such a significant breakthrough and change in the very costly infrastructure and especially in habits of our citizens. Therefore, such interaction is highly important. It is also, as I partly indicated above, reflected by the content of contributions to be presented. It ranges from reports on education of new specialists in the hydrogen technologies and goes over research results and technologies producers to the cross cutting activities and plans of the public sector in this highly innovative field. Therefore I would like to thank to all of you for joining us at this event and for contributing to our joint effort. I wish to all of us informative and interesting, but also pleasant meeting.
