Original language description
Chemical analyses of 32 fragments of glass from Mikulčice showed that glass got to Mikulčice from many production circuits. The first, most numerous group (21 + 5 fractions) consisted of soda glass, where it is possible to specify their provenance on the basis of typology and include both antique vessels (5 pcs.) And Great Moravian ammunition (3 pcs.). The second, less numerous group was soda-ash glass (8 fractions) and two fractions represent potassium-calcium glass (bottleneck and trowel). In the following text, we will try to show the connections between the chemical composition of glasses found in Mikulčice with the findings of glasses from other important Great Moravian localities, such as Pohansko / B, Bojná u Topolčianok or Staré Město-Sady. It is also interesting to compare the finds in Moravia with the finds in the grave in Kolín (Eastern Bohemia) or the window glass from Zalavár (today's Hungary).
