    Characterization of precursor sols for preparation of silica based nanofibers

    Objective of this study was to prepare and characterize electrospun silica-basednanofibers. The goal of this research was to create amorphous tosemicrystalline nanofiber mats, which are easily modifiable and usable inelectrochemical applications such as separators or electrodes in amorphousglass solid state batteries. We investigated stability of precursor sols, andeffect of sol ageing on fibre morphology. Sol-gel reaction mechanism wasinvestigated by liquid state 29Si NMR spectroscopy.
