Concrete with a high content of admixtures from modified fly ash

  • Original language description

The aim of this work was to replace cement with fly ash. Materials from two power plants were used, namely from the Tušimice and Mělník power plants. The fly ash were modified to meet the requirements of EN 450 1. Two treatment methods were used, namely grinding and sorting. From the resulting grinding, suitable materials were determined according to the resulting fineness of grinding. The resulting fineness was divided into fly ash N class and S class According to EN 206+A2, a k value design was used which allows the replacement of cement with fly ash up to a ratio (fly ash/cement) of 0,33, with a considered k-value of 0,4. For XC4 and XF4 environments, according to EN 206+A2, the water coefficient shall be a maximum of 0,45. In the cone settlement test, the consistency of the resulting concretes and the air content of the concretes were verified. Finally, the compressive strength was verified after 2, 7 and 28 days for all mixes. © 2023 40th Annual International Pittsburgh Coal Conference, PCC 2023. All rights reserved.
