Emission Properties of Diesel Fuels Containing Methyl or Ethyl Esters of Rapeseed Oil
Original language description
Emission characteristics of diesel fuel blends containing 5, 20, 30 wt %, respectively, of rapeseed oil methyl esters (RME) or rapeseed oil ethyl esters (REE) were examined. Turbocharged DI diesel engine was used for emission measurements. Exhaust emissions of CO, CH, NOx, PM, aromatics (benzene and toluene), aldehydes and PAHs were measured during the ECE 49 standard test procedure. Positive effects of RME or REE contents in diesel fuel blends on emissions of PM and CO were observed.
