Application of semipermeable membrane device (SPMD) for assessment of organic substances dangerous for green microalga Scenedesmus subspicatus
Original language description
The present paper conentrates on the problem of monitoring of organic pollutants, which can even present in trace level concentration affect the algal biota. Such substances are difficult to analyse in environment via common point sampling methodology followed by any analytical procedure. Conventional analytical methods of analysis of persistent organic pollutants need pretreatment of analyzed sample resulted in higher level of inaccuracy of obtained results. Trace concentration of organic pollutants inmonitored ecosystems do not provide a significant response in algal bioassaya and thus in short duration experiments (period of weeks) there is usually no possible to diverse contaminated and no contminated samples. Synthetic triolein filled semipermeable membrane devices in combination with algal toxicity bioassay offer good system for assessment of water environment.
