Visbreaking of vacuum residues from Ural crude oil and a mixture of Tengiz and Azeri Light crude oils
Original language description
Visbreaking of Ural vacuum residue (Ural VR) and vacuum residue from a mixture of Tengiz and Azeri Light crude oils (TeAz VR) was studied. The conversion of Ural VR was higher than that of TeAz VR at low reaction temperatures. It was probably caused by high content of sulfur compounds in Ural VR that initiated cracking reaction resulting in a higher conversion of this vacuum residue. At higher reaction temperatures, the conversion of paraffinic TeAz VR was the same as that of Ural VR due to paraffin cracking. Higher coke-like compounds were obtained from visbreaking of Ural VR than from visbreaking of TeAz VR because Ural VR had higher resins and asphaltenes and lower H/C atomic ratio
