This paper deals with solubilization properties of biosurfactant produced by yeast Yarrowia lipolytica. Yeast biosurfactants are consisted of a hydrophilic carbohydrate part and a hydrophobic chain of fatty acids (known as sophorolipids) giving them unique properties. Biosurfactants enhance solubility of non-polar compounds in aqueous solutions. The aim of this experimental study was quantification of solubilized gasoline under different experimental conditions. Highest weight solubilization ratio gasoline/biosurfactant was achieved at the pH range 6-8. The equilibrium between the aqueous and organics phases was established after 20 minutes shaking. It has been demonstrated that solubilization properties of biosurfactant depend on the sality of solution. The amount of solubilized gasoline decreased by addition of NaCl.
