  • Original language description

    The aim of this contribution was to evaluate the oxide layers created on construction materials of steam superheater. Main degrading problem of superheaters is exfoliation of oxide layers and clogging pipes, reducing diameter of pipes. Moreover exfoliated material is entrained directly on turbine where corrosion and disruption of surface of rotor blades occure. Significant effect of exfoliation is energy loss. The base material is stainless steel 1.4301, (AISI 304) where main alloying elements are: chrome (18% Cr) forming a chromium oxide layer, nickel (10% Ni) and carbon under 0,03%. There is desirable to create protective chromium oxide layer instead of fragile magnetite layer.
