This work is aimed to evaluate the environmental impacts of different types of wall constructions in the residential houses. The Life Cycle Assessment as analytical tool for the comparison of building envelope wall was used. Following wall systems were used to comparison: wall built from burnt clay bricks and wooden log house wall system. Chosen functional unit for the comparison was one square meter of the wall with approximately equal the heat transfer coefficient. The purpose of this study is to evaluate environmental benefits of use of wood planted in the Czech Republic for construction industry. Two methods are used for evaluating environmental impacts of disposal processes in the life cycle of the log wall. Also the USEtox method was used for evaluating of toxic impact of these different wall types.
