The Losses of the Iron Complex and Ethylenediaminetetraacetic Acid During Gas Desulfurization
Original language description
All the studies that have been published on the reduction of chelating-agent efficiency in the process of hydrogen-sulfide removal from various industrial and natural gases have focused on the relation between efficiency drop and the oxidative degradation of chelates. This study reveals that a significant loss of the chelating agent during gas desulfurization is caused not only by the oxidative degradation of chelates but also by its losses through sorption on solid sulfur. Recent findings allow to substantially reduce significant loss of chelate by adjusting the pH of the wash solution separated sulfur to <1.5 and to increase sulfur recovery application in many technological processes, wherein the content of undesirable iron was still a significant limiting factor.
