Factors Influencing Production of JET Fuel by Hydrocracking

  • Original language description

The article describes the current production sources, technologies, and quality of JET fuel. Attention was given mainly to the production of JET fuel by hydrocracking. Data from a currently operated industrial hydrocracking unit were collected and analyzed. The impact of hydrocracking catalyst deactivation on the yield and quality and crude oil diet and recycling of hydrocracked residue on the yield of hydrocracked JET fuel was described and discussed. Specific properties of hydrocracked JET fuel, such as a very narrow distillation cut, a low content of n-alkanes, a changing content of aromatics, and the relation of the content of aromatics to the smoke point were quantified on the actually produced product.
