Regulation of plant membrane associated PIP2-dependent phospholipase D activity by phosphorylation - sborník
Original language description
Phospholipase D has been identified throughout the animal and plant kingdoms and plays an important role in signal transduction through the hydrolysis of phosphatidylcholine to choline and phosphatidic acid. The latter acts as a second messenger and canbe further converted to other messenger molecules, which activate various downstream signalling processes. In plants, PLD has been proposed to participate in cellular events which include abiotic and biotic stresses. It has also been shown recently thatthe microtubule-associated protein in Arabidopsis is a membrane localized PIP2-dependent PLD. Multiple PLD genes have been identified. Out of twelve members of AtPLD family only four members of C2-PLD are characterised on the protein level. PLD (PIP2 -independent PLD), the prevalent form of the enzyme, which has been extensively studied in many plant species, shows a high in vitro activity at neutral pH and millimolar levels of Ca2+. Two additional forms of PLD (AtPLD and AtPLD ; PIP2-de
