Original language description
Biological treatment of styrene waste gas in two different packed-bed bioreactors was investigated, namely biotrickling filter and biofilter. The bioreactors were inoculated by a mixed microbial consortium isolated from styrene degrading biofilter previously running for two years. The EBRT was in a range of 53 s to 13 s. Comparing the results from both the reactor types it was found, that the biofilter is better for the styrene removal procedure.

Czech description
Biologické čištění odpadních plynů obsahujících styren bylo testováno v biotrickling filtru a biofiltru. Biofiltry byly inokulovány směsnou populací isolovanou z biofiltru degradujícího styren po dobu dvou let. Doba zdržení polutantu byla nastavována v rozmezí 53 až 13 s. Z porovnání výsledků bylo patrno, že pro odstraňování styrenu z odpadního vzduchu byl vhodnější biofiltr.
