Original language description
Heavy metals can be removed from polluted sites by phytoextraction. Our project aims at engineering of flax to express the yeast GSH1 gene for ?-glutamylcysteine synthetase and GSH2 gene for glutathione synthetase to obtain plants with enhanced Cd accumulation and tolerance.

Czech description
Těžké kovy mohou být odstraňovány ze znečištěných míst fytoextrakcí. Cílem projektu je modifikovatl len, aby exprimoval geny GSH1 pro ?-glutamylcysteinsynthetasu a GSH2 pro glutathionsynthetasu, které by podpořily jeho schopnost akumulovat Cd a odolnostvůči vyšším koncentracím Cd.
