Effect of natural substances on biofilms of opportunistic pathogenic microorganisms
Original language description
Biofilms are communities of microorganisms, which are irreversibly attached to a surface, interface or to each other and are embedded in an extracellular polymeric matrix. Almost 99 % of bacteria in nature could exist in this form. Biofilms often cause wide range of infections such as contaminations of medical instruments or industrial devices. Our study was aimed to found effect of selected natural substances on biofilms of several opportunistic pathogenic microorganisms, which are able to cause humaninfections. For the results analysis automated microscope device CellaVista from Roche, Switzerland was employed.
