Original language description
Immunoassays are powerful tools for analysis of inconceivably large number of compounds with applications in numerous disciplines. User-friendly formats of immunoassays are based on easy-to-operate simple devices which do not have any demands on instrumentation or on the previous training of the user. We have developed a series of Lateral Flow Immuno-assay (LFIA) based test-strip methods for rapid and sensitive detection of most frequently occurring anabolic steroids and selected synthetic drugs. The detection limits of individual tests are in the nanogram range, enabling to detect relevant amounts of the compounds of interest in a wide scale of materials (pharmaceuticals, food supplements, herbal mixtures, body fluids) in less than 15 minutes.
