Original language description
As part of the laboratory of the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology (ICT Prague) the climbing film evaporator unit (UOP1 type Armfield, UK) is primarily used for experimental and education purposes. In the next step, the control system is going to be enhanced by an information system supporting advanced process data storage and processing. This information system should be built around a database server in Oracle on the LINUX platform. The database server will communicate with process control software via an ODBC driver protocol. The database server has to be able to periodically log values (sampling period 2-5 s) of about 20 process variables. The stored data will be used for the purposes of off-line analysis, process modeling and optimization. In thefuture, the information system is planned to include modules of advanced control task supervising the lower control levels (TomPack, PLC).
