Optimal Parameters of Simulated Annealing Algorithm for Scheduling of Batch Processes
Original language description
The purpose of this paper is to present one of the methods for optimization of serial multiproduct batch processes, the simulated annealing algorithm; to show the results that can be obtained, and to propose optimal algorithm modifications and parametersettings. Completion time is used as an objective function, and it is computed from input data that consist of set-up, transfer, processing and clean-up times. Permutation schedule (PS) assumption is used, and four interstage policies are tested: unlimited intermediate storage (UIS), finite intermediate storage (FIS), no intermediate storage (NIS) and zero wait (ZW).
