Prediction of morphogenesis of growing polymer particles in heterogeneous catalytic reactors
Original language description
The binary encoded 3D porous structure of the catalyst particle with a typical diameter of 10 to 50 ?m is generated from the microscopy image by the method of reconstructed porous media. This binary encoded porous structure acts as the initial conditionfor simulation of fragmentation of catalyst particle caused by the filling of its pores by the formed polymer. We also concentrate on the details of the micro-particle to micro-particle interactions and on the effect of temperature, polymer crystallinityand the degree of swelling on visco-elastic characteristics of micro-particles.
