Influence of solid particles on volumetric mass transfer coefficients in three phase stirred tank reactor
Original language description
The aim of this study is to consider the influence of solid particles on volumetric mass transfer coefficients, kLa, in three phase agitated model reactor. For the mass transfer measurements it has been used steady state method. The experiments were conducted in a stirred vessel of 0.294m. Two types of impellers have been used: standard Rushton turbine and impeller with vertically asymmetric blades classified as BT-6. Glass balottini and ion exchange resins were used as a solid phase in the range 15-40%(w/w) The gas flow rate, specific power input and concentration of solid phase are dominant quantities controlling the process of mass transfer in three phase systems.
