Interaction of gas and liquid phase with porous particles in the gas-phase catalytic polymerization of olefins
Original language description
Less attention in the catalytic polymerization of olefins has been paid to interactions of liquid phase with porous catalyst and polymer particles in gas-phase reactors for polymerization of olefins. Let us name at least following cases of these interactions: (i) supported catalyst particles injected into the reactor in the form of a slurry with the alifatic diluent, (ii) growing particles showered by the liquid monomer(s), (iii) condensed modes of polymerization in fluidized beds. Consequences of the presence of both the liquid and gas phase on the transport processes inside porous catalyst/polymer particles and sorption equilibria are analyzed as well as induced changes in final product properties.
