    Energy demands of different impeller types in gas-liquid dispersions

  • Original language description

    Gas hold-up, mixing intensity, volumetric mass transfer coefficient and power consumption are measured in a vessel of inner diameter 0.29 m equipped with three impellers on a common shaft. Two types of impellers are used: Narcissus and six 45o pitched blade impeller pumping up. 0.5 M solution of Na2SO4, which represent the non-coalescent batch, is used as liquid phase and oxygen as gas phase. The dependencies of the volumetric mass transfer coefficient, gas hold-up and mixing intensity on total power consumption and superficial gas velocity are presented for both configurations of impellers. The results are compared with transport characteristics measured for other impeller types previously.
