Recently it has been found that in the model of the monolithic catalytic reactor with three-way catalyst both oscillations and multiple solutions occur if a nonstationary CO oxidation model with ten reaction steps is used. Experimental observations of periodic and aperiodic oscillations with the period-doubling route to chaos have been described earlier for CO oxidation on the Pt/Ce/Al2O3 catalyst in a laboratory recycle reactor working as CSTR.
