Energy saving in processes accounting heat losses
Original language description
This paper deals with energy saving in chemical and similar processes in sense of theory of process integration and pinch technology. As it follows from process measurements and other experience as well as from modelling and simulation, heat losses in aheat exchanger network for both heat exchangers and connecting pipelines are to be taken into account. On the other hand, it is not common in a simple version of theory of process integration. The indispensable heat losses, which are usually omitted in data extraction, are about 4-20 % of heat loads. Impact of heat losses on the course of composition lines for the pinch problem shows a greater consumption of hot utility above the pinch, but lower requirement of cold utility below the pinch in comparisonwith the case without heat losses. The similar results are valid also for threshold problems. Hence the original energy target can be affected and changed
