The contribution is devoted to preprocessing of biomedical images with the goal to determine the given object by means of edge detection methods. Various methods are investigated for object border selection including gradient methods and methods of mathematical morphology. The paper is focused on the possibilities of threshold selection in the subsequent process of conversion from grayscale to binary image

Příspěvek je věnován zpracování biomedicínských obrazů s cílem vymezení daného objektu prostředky detekce hran. Byly zkoumány různé metody detekce hran včetně gradientních metod a metod matematické morfologie. Práce byla pak dále zaměřena na metody volbyprahu při navazující konverzi šedotónového obrazu do binární formy.
