Permeability of myristate cellulose based composite membranes for gases and vapors

Result description

The permeation measurements of gases (nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide) and water, methanol, heptane and toluene vapors through four different composite membranes with myristate cellulose coating layer are reported. Experiments were carried out by the differential permeation apparatus at 298.15 K and at the atmospheric pressure. From experimental data the permeability coefficients were determined. Generally, the permeation coefficients in relation to active coating MC layer of all investigated gases were far more lower than vapors ones and vapors permeation were in order toluene > heptane > methanol >> water.

Propustnost kompozitních membrán na bázi myristátu celulózy pro plyny a páry

  • Czech description

Tato práce se zabývá studiem propustnosti čtyř různých kompozitních membrán s myristát celulozovou (MC) krycí vrstvou (cca 1 um) pro plyny (dusík, kyslík, oxid uhličitý) a páry (voda, etanol, heptan a toluen). Permeační experimenty byly prováděny pomocídiferenciálního permeametru s nosným plynem vodíkem při teplotě 298.15 k a při atmosférickém tlaku. Z naměřených dat byly vypočteny koeficienty propustnosti studovaných plynů a par v příslušných membránách. Při porovnání všech membrán lze konstatovat, žejejich propustnost pro plyny byla mnohem menší než pro páry. V případě par pak lze konstatovat, že nejvyšší propustnost vzhledem k MC vrstvě měly páry toluenu, meší páry heptanu a metanolu a nejmenší propustnost vykazovaly vodní páry.
